The Quarantine Opera celebrates reaching 10,000 followers on Facebook, just more than one month after releasing its first performance of “Habañera”, from Bizet’s Carmen.
Their second performance of “Brindisi” from Verdi’s La Traviata released on Sunday 10/05/2020 and within three days of release has been shared 1,000 times and received over 70,000 views. The video itself features over 100 musicians from 40 countries, spanning over 6 continents, uniting the musical world while the performing scene has temporarily ground to a halt.
The Quarantine Opera will continue to create performances over the coming months – even though lockdown is slowly lifting, most concerts and festivals through the summer of 2020 have been cancelled and the company has reported that it will continue with their 2020 season until the musicians featured in their videos are back on live stages.
